The Tight Lies Titanium arrives in Pro Shops mid October

Adams Tight Lies Titanium fairway woods have two improvements over the 2014 Tight Lies fairway wood.

First, many players told Adams Golf they enjoyed what the slot did for shots, but some players did not like the looks of the club at address. So company engineers designed the Adams Tight Lies Titanium with Ghost Slot Technology, covering a slot in the crown with a soft material before painting over it.

"When you look down, you can just barely see it through the paint and make out a faint outline of the slot," said Michael Fox, Adams' director of product creation and marketing. "You can see it from a foot or two away, but from the address position it almost completely disappears."

Second, Adams incorporates a brazed-titanium face. Adams said the titanium face boosts the club's characteristic time to 223, which means it has nearly as much spring-like effect as most drivers.

"Using titanium instead of stainless steel allowed us to keep the low-profile shape, but pick up about 11 yards more distance and a 2-degree higher launch angle for slower-swing-speed players," Fox said. "It's the easiest to hit and longest fairway wood we've ever made."
